Gigi's guide to Formula 1
Welcome to my pit stop, here you'll find everything you need for your car.
New to F1?
But what is formula 1?
Formula 1 is a car racing sport. But overall, it's about strategy, engineering, sportsmanship and a life style!
Every year occurs two championships, the drivers championship(wins the driver with most points accumulated during the season) and the constructors championship(wins the team with biggest sum of points between their both drivers)
In the sport there are multiple teams, each with two drivers, and their goal is to win the most points they can in the season.
In a season(a year) there are 24 Gran Prix. The Grand Prixes are the races. They are distributed along the year and always occur on sundays , but the week and weekend before the race are always very eventful. We call them raceweeks and raceweekends.
How does it work?
Each raceweek follows this schedule:
- Wednesday: Media day
- Thursday: Free Practice 1 Free practice sessions allow teams to test and fine-tune their cars before qualifying and the race. There are typically three one-hour practice sessions. During these sessions, teams familiarize themselves with the track, test car setups, and gather data to optimize performance for qualifying and the race.

Why you should love it as well
- The engineering!: Aside from being a fisical sport, F1 cars are the most technological cars in the world, and there is so much to learn about them!
- The strategy: It's not just a sunday race, it's about the entire week of planning and thinking how they're going to win the next race, and the entire year of thinking how they're going to get the best possible placement in the championship.
As you can see, it is a very fun sport, if you'd like to watch 18 millionaires, 1 billionaire and 1 poor guy running in circles, you might like to see what teams we have
